“Your flight has been re-routed.” It was the dreaded text I received confirming the fact that my husband and I were going to miss our connecting flight, and the next flight we could take would be in six hours. What a way to crush your plans, and your spirit. My husband noticed on the flight board that another flight to another city was scheduled to leave soon, which would save us time in the end, if we wouldn’t mind dealing with the aggravation of Ubers, and taking a Greyhound bus to help us get to our destination.
We decided on the latter, even though It wasn’t our preferred plan.
In life it doesn’t seem to always go as planned. Sometimes Jesus takes us on what may seem to be a road filled with many twists and turns. At times we may feel lost, thinking the road will never end.
For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
He has a plan for you and I even in the midst of everything going wrong, even if it’s because of our own wrongdoing. He has it figured out.
I have engraved you on the palms of my hands, your walls are continually before me. Isaiah 49:16
Its trusting in HIM and having faith that He will eventually get us to where we need to be. Faith in his love, his forgiveness, and most of all surrendering to HIM. Giving him our mistakes and our sorrows knowing that they are no longer ours to hold or look back on, and that they have been thrown into the sea of forgiveness.
I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Isaiah 43:25
Trusting and having faith can seem impossible during the toughest of times, but just a small amount of faith is a first step.
“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain. ’Move from here to here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible to you.’ Matthew 17:20
Jesus’s love, and peace is there for the taking. Live in the present, and trust in his plan.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
saiah 41:10
He’s got this! We need to do our part by having faith, delving into scriptures, prayer, and not looking back.
Finally, many hours later, and after much traveling and aggravation we have arrived at our destination. It was a long journey, but we made it!
